Snapchat had a huge increase when they introduced the gender swap and baby filters. Go figure! Our entire company had a lot of fun trying these filters out ourselves. Snapchat saw the number of downloads double from the previous month. They are also looking to move into e-commerce with native checkout available to some influencers including Kylie and Kim Kardashian, Shay Mitchell, Spencer Pratt, and Bhad Bhabie.

Facebook has released Oculus Quest Content and in the first two weeks, they made $5 million dollars in revenue. Facebook also leads in most app downloads in May, while TikTok and Snapchat trail close behind. Facebook Watch is expanding and has announced new shows from Zac Efron, Anna Kendrick, Jessica Biel, and more. Facebook also released 22 new courses to Blueprint for free. This will make advertising on Facebook easier for small business. They are on a roll recently. Facebook also released their plans for Libra, a new cryptocurrency although it will be not be released until 2020. This centralized cryptocurrency will go global, but will first be introduced in the US and Europe. To prevent money laundering, Libra will enforce you to verify your identity.

 

Google is revamping Google My Business for more social-like options. They had added welcome offers, custom URLs, new visual options, and stickers along with offline promotional materials. Google also announced two new ad formats: the ‘Swirl’ 3D Display and Live Stream Ad.

 

Every week we hear more and more about TikTok. This week TikTok is testing new advertising features with a small group of agencies. This is rumored to include custom audiences, pixel tracking, demographic targeting, and interest-based targeting.

 

Instagram has a new option: A Creator Account. But don’t jump too fast, you have to have 10,000 followers. This will allow you to filter messages, see better growth insights and create stoppable posts.
